Meet Our Staff
 Dick Wooten
Dick Wooten is senior pastor of Stonegate Community Church with additional responsibilities as administrator.
Dick is a lifelong Waco resident, and was one of the founding members of Stonegate Community Church at its inception in August of 1998.
He was graduated from Richfield High School, attended Baylor University, and was graduated from Howard Payne University. While at Baylor, Dick played football, and is still a diehard Baylor fan.
Most of his career has been in jobs helping people: Child Protective Services, Hillcrest Hospital, and Stonegate Community Church. He served as a volunteer in charge of men's ministries for several months and was hired as full time associate pastor in April of 1999. He served in that capacity and as administrator until being elected pastor on September 28, 2008..
Stonegate was blessed to be able to license Dick into the Gospel Ministry in April of 2004.
Dick has two sons, Bryan and Chad, two grandchildren, and an Alaskan malamute that comes to work with Dick from time-to-time. Bryan and his wife are Southern Baptist foreign missionaries.
Mark Maynard
Mark Maynard, who was born and reared in Waco, is the new Worship Leader at Stonegate Community Church.
Mark has been married for almost 20 years to Rebecca Kistin, and they have a 7-year-old daughter, Emma Grace. Kistin has been an elementary music teacher for 15 years. The Maynards have recently bought a home in Hewitt.
Mark surrendered to the ministry after his salvation in 1985. He began leading church music soon after and has been singing for the Lord ever since in churches and with gospel groups. He came to Stonegate May 24.
Mark was graduated from Baylor University with a business degree, and owns his own real estate company -- Mark Maynard Realty.
JON POLK
After graduating from the University of Texas, Jon married Shelley and the two later relocated to Fort Worth where Jon attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and completed a master’s degree in communications. While in Fort Worth, he ministered through drama and creative arts as a member, and later director, of The Company drama ministry team.
Jon has a variety of experiences: traveling and performing around the state, nation and world with the drama ministry team, a Bible software programmer and editor, a young adult minister, working with church planters, and a spiritual formation mentor, to name a few. Jon has always strived to communicate the gospel message in a creative and memorable way.
Most recently, Jon and his family moved to Waco where he completed a master’s of divinity degree at Baylor’s George W. Truett Theological Seminary. He intends to channel his creative abilities into preaching and pastoral ministry.
Jon especially enjoys spending time with his family, wife Shelley, a long time educator and currently the assistant principal at Castleman Creek Elementary in Hewitt, and seven year-old daughter Janae, a rising second grader at Castleman Creek.
